Serguei Kouptsov is gifted by God with a talent for vocal and instrumental performance. He enjoys applying these skills in the area of worship whether through piano, keyboard, flute, guitar, East European folk instruments or conducting children and adult choirs. He loves to be in God’s presence and to help lead others to the Lord through worship. Having been involved with ministry across all age groups, he believes they play a strong role in the worship experience and wants to help mold current and future worshipers.
Serguei has a Master's Degree of Arts and his wife Galina, a Bachelor's Degree in Arts. Both are educated in the performing arts and music. They lived in a predominantly secular culture in the far reaches of the Siberian sector of the Soviet Union. Through the connections in the music and educational channels, he was able to meet Evangelicals in Ukraine, Crimea, Simferopol who had attached themselves to different lecture series’ in and around where they lived. He eventually finds his way to underground churches forbidden by the Communist government, and it was there in 1990 he received salvation.
They immigrated to the United States from Ukraine under very trying circumstances. Galina arrived first with her daughter Katya in North Carolina where she stayed with friends. Serguei remained in Moscow and did not arrive in the States until nine years later after many years. While in Russia he was beaten for the faith and his apartment was bombed; he lost everything. He escaped to London in 1996 and later became a British Citizen. After nine years of incredible frustration and perseverance, he united with his family in Massachusetts in December 2003.
Serguei is ordained in three countries: Russia, England, and the United States. He graduated from Bible college in Moscow in 1995. Galina studied at Zion Bible Institute in Barrington from 1996-1997.
